Controlling your inner self is the main motif of mystic poetry. Sufism revolves around the idea of letting your ego go out of the door. Mysticism talks about that once you understand your own self you’ll be able to connect to God in a better way. God will remember you Himself once you let go of your ego. We have to reflect God from within us as we all possess some qualities of our creator. You have to discover your God self on your own by striving to learn more and more and never stopping. You can create your own logic and justify your stance of your understanding. The path towards God is not about inactivity but countering the World with your reason.

Surrender your ego is the main idea. We are not aware of the strengths residing within us this is what know thyself is. The path of truth is never straight there will be hurdles on every step of your way. Controlling one’s self is difficult it is not a feast made by your mother and you ready to eat but is very tough with barriers in your way and you need to surpass those in order to pro It is not about the outer show, not a scene being created as sound and fury, but a truth towards life which demands much more from you than showing the World and not having a pure heart. One should be pure inside out. Your inner self is as important as the outer self.

A heart filled with the love of God which is passionate about learning more and more about his creator is the one who will constantly remember God. In reward, God will enlighten him with peace and love. The darkness departs where God shines His light. The Almighty will let you free from the fear of death, and you shall live enough without the fear of the end. Sacrifice yourself in the name of God and live eternally.

Rumi, a very famous Persian Mystic, has a very prophetic tone attached to his words. He is very popular among the masses. A Sufi mystic is someone who tries throughout his life to conduct his life according to the right path. Rumi deals with the human condition, and that is always relevant. He is able to articulate the highly personal and often confusing world of personal growth and development in a very clear and direct manner. He does not offend anyone, and he includes everyone. The world of Rumi is neither exclusively the world of a Sufi, nor the world of a Hindu, nor a Jew, nor a Christian; it is a state of an evolved human, who is not bound by cultural limitations and societal norms.

Rumi’s teachings surpass these clich notions of today’s world and preach to lead a simple life. Rumi also writes about the abolishment of the conventional fear-based religious orders of the world. For Rumi fear-based religion is poison and his remedy is love-based doctrine, a life journey free of guilt, fear, and shame. Love is the cure to every problem. In his Masnavi, tale one he talks about the love of a prince and the Handmaid.

Rumi teaches in his tale that with love comes suffering and despair. Grief can have a great impact on oneself, whether the impact is good or bad that is onto you to decide. This sweet pain of love allows one to get a deep understanding of life. The way he shows a love triangle in between the price, the handmaid and the goldsmith is very descriptive. The prince’s love for the handmaid was so intense that he got happy in giving his love to another man just to please the handmaid herself.

Rumi preaches the idea of love that to let yourself burn in the fire of love because that is when one will truly understand what love is. He negates the idea of love that preaches to destroy the beloved if not sincere. Once you’re in love, you start loving the flaws of your beloved as well then how come one hate his lover. Love is such a divine emotion which has lost its essence in today’s world but in real love is an emotion that elevates your soul.

True love is perfected in pain, love needs madness, and it cannot be measured this is the intensity of love. Love brightens your paths of darkness. It brings light to the darkest of shadows of one’s life. The pain in love is the cure of the pain itself. Sorrow is the trouble and the medicine as well. Compassion leads one to success, and that is how one needs to lead life.

Rumi says

Love is best when mixed with anguish.
In our town,
we won’t call you a Lover
if you escape the pain.

In another tale from the Masnavi, Rumi talks about the trust in God. Having faith in the Divine soul and giving yourself into the belief of the oneness of the God allows you to reach the highest of success.

Rumi says

I am so drunk
I have lost the way in
and the way out.
I have lost the earth, the moon, and the sky.
Don’t put another cup of wine in my hand,
pour it in my mouth,
for I have lost the way to my mouth.

He preaches not to forget the right path, not to get tempted by the delights of this world. Materials are of no use in the hereafter, and one will be left with empty handed. Rumi tries to tell the world through his words that do not waste time because time will never come back and lose a way in and a way out is the most dangerous situation one can be. Therefore living a balanced life is a necessity. Destiny is another important factor in one’s life, what is bound to happen will happen; it will make its way regardless of the situation whatever it’ll be.

Rumi was a universal soul appearing as a Persian mystic poet, with an incredibly brilliant mind, who lived by his own code and tried to preach what he felt was right.
